Our intercooler drops outlet temperatures by 34 DegreeF through a core that is 128% bigger than stock, along with 32% more external fin surface area. When it comes to power, we saw consistent improvements of an extra 5hp and 7 ft-lbs of torque over baseline. Due to space constraints, this intercooler will not fit with the active splitters, but the factory shrouding beneath the front grill can stay to keep constant airflow directed at the core. After watching all the YouTube install videos, I was ready to try my luck with the Rev-9s. So glad I went this route instead. The Mishimoto was well worth the extra cost when it came time to install. Total job was done in 3 hrs. Minimal mechanic experience, learned everything from YouTube. WORTH THE COST!!!

First off, quality is top notch and install was very quick and easy. It took me about 2 hours alone with some help from youtube, but it is pretty much straight forward. Take bumper off, lights off, some tabs and clips then the IC. If your somewhat mechanically incline, change your own oil, install a cold air intake type of person, then this won't be a problem. Fitment is spot on, everything lines up perfect! (wouldn't expect anything less from Mish). I already had a tune with the stock IC, after install car now feels more consistent. Looks great too, that gold pops out and turns heads, if that's your type of thing. Best of all, for all you that live in Carb Cali.... It is approved and comes with a nice thick CARB OE approved decal to place on your hood or where ever you please. Highly recommended.

As just about anyone who can't leave their ST alone will tell you, one of the biggest things holding you back is the FMIC. If you plan on leaving your car stock, then the stock IC will be fine, however if you want to produce more power you'll need to upgrade. It's in the top 5-10 things to replace, along with sypmoser delete and BOV replacement.At any rate, let my pictures speak for it. As you can clearly see, the Mishimoto IC is significantly larger than stock. The construction is also superior with the bar and plate design and powdercoating. Mishimoto carries different options so you can get the color you want, or no color and spraypaint it how you want, but for me I chose black to try and keep a lower profile (I live in Cali, where this IS legal, however upgrades like these can attract unwanted attention). Installation, even with removing the front bumper, was actually pretty easy. Surprisingly easy. I put off installing one for so long thinking it was going to be a huge project, however it took longer to swap out my exhaust than to swap the IC. If you're a novice mechanic you may want to have it installed, but if you're capable of more than just oil and brake changes this won't be a struggle for you. My favorite part about this IC over others is that I didn't have to permanently modify my car to make it work. I did a bunch of research and at the time, this was the largest IC you could buy for the Focus ST without making modifications. You will have to remove the grill shutters, but you also shouldn't care and you can always put them back. I left the wiring harness plugged in to hopefully avoid throwing a code; so far so good. Removing the AGS won't trigger a CEL though, even if you left the wiring harness out. This is a great choice for anyone who wants superior performance that's simple to install and won't break the bank. Definitely something to increase your smiles per gallon!
