I've been using this drive in an external docking station without an issue for nearly a year. The drive has performed flawlessly and SMART reports indicate no issues. The drive is noisy (but it is external without an enclosure and within 50cm of my ears) and does run hot when doing a 30 min backup. It seems quite fast but it is certainly fast enough for backing up my very large store of raw photographs and ripped CD's. So far, very satisfied to the point where I've purchased a second one. Addendum: The second drive is now installed and working well. I would definitely recommend this drive and the seller.
