A great dumbbbell set from a company that's been around since the late 1950s when Walt Marcyan started it. Good quality that will last a long time. All metal, no smell, solid knurled chrome bars. This set is actually 39 lbs.4 x 5 lbs = 20 lbs4 x 3 lbs = 12 lbs= 32 lbsEach bar with 2 spinning screw clamps = 3.53 lbs.2 x 3.5 lbs = 7 lbs.32 + 7 = 39 lbs.I guess with the case it comes to 40 lbs lol. But I took one star off because of the deceptive claim.

I specifically bought this set because I need to frequently transport the weights. Come to find out, there's no way to close the case with all the weights inside. They don't "snap" in, and each side of the case holds half the weights... so if you try to close it, the side you lift has all the weights just fall out. Seriously, how could they market this as having a carrying case if you can't even carry more than half the weights at a time? Other than that, just an average set of weights.

Got these for a at home workout and I'm happy to say that they arrived well packaged, without any chips or damage to the weights, bar or case! Good pricing too! Would recommend for people looking to get their workout at home!

everything came in the carrying case and was all there, good quality sturdy handles with good construction.this item is great compared to some others with plastic collars and hand grip area as those can become damaged or warped over time. This product came with the full metal bars and collars the weight plates themselves have a 1" or 1.1" hole for bar so they were easy to combine with my other small set I had to improve work outs. The handles and collars lock well together and there is no shifting or movement of the weights so no worries of them coming loose when your going hardas previously mentioned I added some of my current ones to the set from another manufacturer I notice that these plates are much thinner and would allow for more to be added to the bars and they have a nice black/dark color to them very fancy ;)I then gave my old ones to my son and now we can work out together :)All in all this is a high quality product the price is a tad on the high side but I do not regret the purchase the handles will last a very long time with their sturdy construction and there's no weird smells or anything from any of the partsvery happy with this product and if I ever need to can always order more 1" plates to add to them

They are perfect and exactly what I needed. I also have to extra weight plates that I can use for increased resistance when needed. They were by far the best price on the market that I could find. Thanks MARCY!!

Good Set, bit of mis info! Weights do not add up to 40lbs and lock clip for the case was damaged. Overall Good Product!

Go ahead and look around at the cost of cast iron weights including shipping - go ahead, I'll wait. Did you notice that you won't come anywhere near this pricepoint on just the plates alone? This is a good deal. The plates are solid. The handles and spinners are OK - lot's of places sell the exact same quality at a higher price. When you get them, just go over the corners and angles with a light sandpaper to brush off any burrs that may have been missed at the factory - I didn't have any on my set, but in general with this type of nickel plated material, it is a good idea. You WILL have some of the nickel flake off in use. Don't panic - unless you have a nickel allergy, you can just wash your hands after your workout and sweep any debris off your mat.
