Just bought this over a week ago; had a good first experience for couple of days over the last weekend. I cannot yet comment on durability considering it's a recent purchase but functionally it certainly is a good addition if you are on for a good long hiking. Carries Camera in separate area easier to access and other stuff in different portion of a bag. Have sufficient space to carry whatever one needs for a good day hike.

Spent hours searching for the best photography and hiking backpack that would fit my needs in both photo and hiking (with 1 day hikes in mind). I am a 6ft tall 200 pound guy, and I read a review from another user saying he was 6ft 4in and he though the bag fit well. I decided to buy this one considering all of the above. Man... when I opened the box, even before putting it on my back, I knew it would not work. When put it on, the waist strap when attached is located above my belly button. ABOVE (see the attached picture). I cannot conceive how it can fit a 6ft4in tall dude. From what I saw in my research, people inder 5ft9in seemed satisfied. But not for me. I want to say that the bag seems really nice and fully functionnal, well built. But I have to return it

Bought this to tote my DSLR camera and 2 lenses (kit and telephoto) around on beaches and rocky headlands and while hiking. I like the narrow width, the side access to the camera and the extra room and zippered pockets for storing things like a wallet, a jacket, bits of gear and a lunch. Quality construction throughout. The various straps allow you to fit it to your back like a glove, while the chest strap and waist belt ensure there's no slipping, and evenly distribute the weight of your gear. I can't recommend it enough for the beginning photo enthusiast. A more serious photographer might wish to go for the larger size (the 300, I think), but this is a perfect size for me at this point.

I've been looking for a day pack in which I can carry my camera gear as well as some other items like food, water, jacket, accessories, etc. In the past I took regular bags and put my camera in other cases, including inners on day trips but that has its inconveniences. I have got other decent bags but I was specifically looking for the following features:- Must be able to carry camera gear (DSLR body + couple of lenses + a point and shoot camera, maybe also my Mavic Air drone with additional batteries. Camera gear must be easy to take out and put it back in.- Must be able to carry a fleece jacket and a rain jacket, perhaps a beanie/gloves, small first aid kit, etc.- Must be able to carry a 20x10cm (approx.) battery pack- Some food and water for the day as well.- Most importantly, a good back harness with a comfortable waist belt so the bag remains stable during hikes.I found all of these features in this one backpack. My camera gear including accessories is divided between the camera pockets, the main backpack storage area and the top zippered pocket for accessories. Jacket goes into the outer pocket and food along with some other clothing goes into the main compartment as well. A dedicated area for a 2L hydration is also there but I haven't used it yet. Will be using it on future trips though. A pocket on the side for another bottle of water/juice is a decent size and the bottle won't fall off when hiking. The two pockets on the waist belt are of decent size. Keep energy bars or anything that size in there. All in all, this bag fits the bill for me. It was exactly what I was looking for. It is durable, comfortable to wear and light-weight enough for my day trips. The slim profile design of the backpack gives it these benefits. It has all what I need to organise my gear for day hikes. Couldn't be more happier. And it also has a rain cover tucked in a separate pocket at the bottom of the backpack.

I bought this for general hiking with a water bladder in it. I have an osprey 3lt bladder which does fit, but I only put 2 litres of water in it as the camera box means it can’t really expand as much as it needs to with 3 litres. The pack is comfortable. And fits well. Is excellently made. In the box I put in a Nikon d810 camera with a 70-200 lens next to it (it is a bit of a tight fit though.) I also in the top section can fit a 14-24 lens and the mavic pro and controller, along with some binos and my gopro. It really can fit a lot for a not too big a pack.

This is a great hiking camera backpack! I was looking for a lightweight camera backpack that had quick access to the camera compartment, is hydration compatible, and is comfortable to carry for long hikes, and this bag meets all my needs! The Photosport 300 fits my full-frame Canon 6Dii with a 24-70mm 2.8 lens and lens hood attached, an extra wide angle prime lens, 2L Platypus hydration bladder, trekking poles, my lunch, an extra sweater or light jacket, and everything else I need for a full day hike. I took it on a 12km hike and it was very comfortable to carry. It was easy to adjust the fit of the bag to fit my body. My only complaint is that the bag could be ventilated better and my back was wet from sweat after a short amount of time carry it.

This backpack is great for day trips! Used it a few times and very happy with how secure I feel putting my camera in the compartments to protect it. Easy side access makes it simple to access the camera when needed. There is plenty of room for a lunch and extras, the water bladder storage I was able to use a 3L camel bag.

It's an amazing backpack. It's very large and compact at the same time. It's extremely comfortable to carry. It has a lot of straps and buckles and it takes a little bit of time to open and lock everything but it keeps the backpack tight, secure and comfortable.

The Photo Sport 300 is a perfect backpack for the serious hiker or biker who wants to carry pro size camera gear in comfort and still have room for other essentials, especially water. Most photo backpacks have plenty of room for gear, but nothing else. Many don’t even offer a pocket large enough for a water bottle, let alone a hydration reservoir. This bag has room for jackets, lunch, first aid kit, water reservoir and still has room for the camera stuff. The gear compartment has room for a pro-body camera with a standard zoom – I use the Sony a7R2 with 24-70 GMaster lens or Canon 5Dii with 24-105 f4 IS L. Those are both pretty large lenses, but they fit just fine attached to the camera. In addition to the camera/lens combo, there is room for a 70-300 f.3.5-5.6 or 16-35 f2.8L in the gear garage. My 70-200 f2.8L is too snug for my liking in this compartment, but another reviewer notes that the f4 version fits fine. The ability to quickly grab the camera/lens combo through the side access without removing the backpack is really nice to have on the trail. If you want to carry more camera equipment, you can safely carry a few additional lenses, speedlights, cleaning equipment, etc. in the upper cargo compartment. The top compartment is not padded so your lenses will need to be in neoprene cases, but those are super cheap and work great to protect your glass. Note, however, that as with any backpack, wearing comfort is inversely related to the weight carried. This bag is not intended to carry 5 or 6 lenses. Although they might fit, your comfort will be compromised. The front stuff pocket is BIG -- big enough to hold a bike helmet and a windbreaker or a spare pair of shoes or rain jacket and pants. The main (upper) cargo compartment is also pretty big. I typically load it with lunch and trail snacks, a first aid kit, headlamp, shutter release and extra batteries, bulb blower and lens cloths, a speedlight and a small wide prime lens in neoprene case. This still leaves enough room to spare that you could carry an extra tee shirt, hat and gloves, etc. There is also a nice large stretchy pocket on the right side of the bag that easily holds a 1.5 liter water bottle plus a large zipper pocket on the opposite side that could hold a small jacket, a lens in a neoprene case, etc. With all that stuff plus 2 liters of water in a platypus reservoir, the pack is very comfortable to wear all day on a strenuous hike. Note that like all modern backpacks you will need to spend time adjusting all the straps to perfect the fit. I think other reviewers who mentioned comfort issues may have skipped this step. For reference, I’m 5’11” and 215 lbs, so not a small guy. There are many adjustments, including 4 on the waist belt, two on the shoulder straps and two load lifter straps. Search online (try REI) for instructions on how to adjust all the straps for comfort.By far the biggest drawback of this backpack is lack of an elegant solution to carry a tripod. I carry a travel sized carbon fiber pod by putting two legs in the stretchy pocket on the right and lashing the top with a strap from REI. It works OK, but I would prefer lashing the tripod to the center back of the pack, for better balance and to be able to carry a larger tripod. I’m sure it can be done with some aftermarket parts such as a tripod foot pouch and a little creativity. If you buy this bag for what it is – a day hike or light travel bag for a smallish camera kit – you will not be disappointed. If you want a bag to carry all of your equipment or to hike the length of the Appalachian Trail, this is not your bag. For that you will have to spend money on a serious ClikElite or F-Stop bag or make your own solution from a dedicated backpack using a camera insert. I have bags for those, and other, purposes. But for a strenuous Sunday hike with a light kit, the Lowepro Photo Sport BP 300 is just what you need.

I received the bag via courier. I love it. It's light weight and big enough to carry enough gear for a day trip. Not big enough to carry a laptop or notebook though. But the hydration compartment is just what I have been looking for. Saves me from lugging another hydration back pack with me. Looking forward to trying it out on my trip to Cambodia!
