Strongly recommended for damp, wet, or surface water installation. I should have known about this watertight electrical power plug connector. City Inspector should have recommended as the connection box is below grade and ground level. Easy installation. Used in connection with cover and plug for a good and effective watertight connection. The contractor installed a "weather-proof" connection box from Home Depot that tripped the breaker during an intense rainstorm. I knew the box would not work, but the contractor was licensed by the state and I did not have a choice. Again, strongly recommend this box and the associated cover plate and electrical plug for a watertight connection in a damp or semi-wet environment. The plug has a rubber lip that fits snugly in the receptacle to provide the watertight connection. Effective setup. YES, at an added cost but no more tripping of the breaker. Do not use "weatherproof" electrical boxes unless it is protected from the elements.
