It’s a cute concept however for a puppy or lightweight dog it is hard for them to push down on the middle piece to allow the treats to dispense, I have to push down which defeats the purpose, probably better for a bigger dog in my opinion

We got this for one of our cats. We have three, but only one of them seemed to get bored and get into trouble. She's capable of lifting all the flaps to pull treats out but hasn't figured out how to push down on it to get it to drop treats into the little holders. The only time she's made that part work is when she rubs on it and accidentally presses it. However, she absolutely delights in it. She legit smiles every time she pulls a treat out. The other two cats have sniffed at it and know what's in it but they don't have the slightest idea how to get into it.This particular cat used to be a stray, so I have a feeling she's more accustomed to having to work for her food, whereas my others have been in a house since they were kittens and have had a pampered life. Because of that, I don't think it's suited to all cats - it's really only smart/ crafty cats that can figure it out. I suspect it would be similar for dogs in terms of pressing the thing to release treats. Most dogs should be able to open the flaps, but pushing the thing in the middle will probably be difficult for the average pup.

I was really hopeful for this as a nail care tool for my pups, but definitely doesn't fit that need. The treat-release action is by pushing down on the center "button", so my dogs did a little bit of pawing at it, but quickly learned that pushing down was adequate. Additionally, each push releases treats into all of the drawers, so too many treats at once. As a puzzle, there was not enough stability in the device. My doggos quickly knocked it over and around.Probably would work well for use with smaller dogs as a feeding puzzle, but definitely not for larger dogs or for use in nail care.

I have purchased two of these now. I got one originally for my little sister and her new pup. And he took right to it, investigating and learning just what he needs to do in order to enjoy a good snack. He struggled, at first, to understand that he had to push on the top in order to make the goodies come down. But he took no time at all to learn to where and how to check for treats in each little section. He did so well with it that we tried it with my larger at home, and he caught on almost instantly. So I got a second one to be used for my now 2 dogs at home. It’s great for their problem solving processes and learning skills. A fantastic little invention!

Oh yeah this one is fun for them, the scratch nail pads give them some texture to understand the pressing of the top button.The food randomly shoots out so they have to find it, but the lids are very easy to open with their noses to get at the food. If you have a fast eater this will slow them down immediately.Great feeder toy and took all of 5 minutes for the doggo to catch on!

It does work to file down the nails -- at least a bit. Some dogs are just too smart and figure out how to get the treats without the filing effect, while others either enjoy it more, or are slower to "learn the trick of it".The puzzle board itself is good and solid, with the parts washable in the sink or in the dishwasher.We have a friend who has some bigger dogs, and they are quick to get the treats, and we have another friend that is a Terrier, and she seems to enjoy the scratching at it (may be a terrier thing?), and sometimes does not even take the treat after she gets it! I think she just is having fun!Will any of them ever use it enough to eliminate the need for trimming their nails? I doubt it, but maybe stretch it out to a monthly thing rather than every week or so? Yeah, I can see that working.
