Not soft close. Sturdy. It does position your bottom differently than other seats. High priced compared to most seats

The seat broke off from the hinge in 6 months, the back mounting fasteners kept coming lose. very disappointed in a $118.00 seat. Can't find out if it has any warranty.

It did not have screws to install and got some at Home Depot. It appeared that metal screws were not right and cause loose seat...I think plastic screws will work and still pending to shop for right screws.

Pricier than some but you get what you pay for. Have tried a lot of the cheaper seats over the years but this one is the best. This is an excellent seat for elongated toilet. Comfortable to sit on and open front aids with personal hygiene. Seems to be well made and is easy to install. Installed on American Standard Champion 4 Elongated. I would purchase again.
