We remodeled two bathrooms in 2019 and decided we disliked our existing single faucet and looked to upgrade to a widespread set. Being a lifelong Moen customer I was surprised when I kept getting drawn back to the Forte line. It is very sculptural and looks good in both my more industrial bathroom and classic bathroom. We are now remodeling another bath in 2021 and am back to purchase another Forte faucet due to its beauty and reliability. The cost has increased but given I kept our last faucet twenty. years is inexpensive over time especially when you think how much the bathroom is visited and faucet used. A faucet failure could cause significant damage and cost to repair so you want a reliable brand.I purchased one set from this seller and another elsewhere and was happy with both sets. Our plumber installed and never mentioned an issue, everything you need for installation comes in the box. Please note if you see a cheaper faucet from another manufacturer it may not come with the necessary valve for it to provide water.

Years ago this Kohler Forte faucet was ok(never great though). It used to be better made but recent obvious redesigns of this line and other lines like the Devonshire have reduced this to being barely above junk status. The spout shank and tee both used to be brass and threaded onto the brass shank of the faucet with a nice round steel washer. Now the spout tee is a 2 piece cheap plastic hose and tee that is too long and interferes with the operation of the drain linkage. The spout also has no shank anymore as it is replaced by the hose and a cheap threaded rod to affix it to the counter/sink. The new C shaped washer is too thin and has insufficient contact area, is slightly offset because of where the rod pokes out of the bottom of the spout, and it also usually gets in the way of the sink edge on undermount sinks because of it's imbecilic, large shape and location. The upper exposed part of the spout is also cheaper junk now(it used to be cheaply made as well but is even worse now). It used to have an internal copper tube that was soldered to a brass end that the aerator screwed into. This gave it a relatively solid and secure part to screw the brass aerator in. Now the aerator screws into a cheap plastic spout that usually shoots the entire water stream off slightly to one side or the other and rarely comes down straight. Additionally, the aerator is all plastic now and uses a very thin o-ring to make a seal. It doesn't usually seal against the new cheap plastic spout outlet. It drips around the edge of the aerator when the water runs out of it.The hot and cold shanks are very similar to the old ones with the only major difference being the cartridge design is now plastic instead of brass. The same design copper inlet tubes are good for cabinet installations but are usually too long for pedestal sinks and will almost always be seen on the sink bottom. Typically when this happens I will cut an inch or so off of them and resolder in the middle with a 3/8" copper coupling so that the inlet tubes can't be seen at the bottom of the sink. If they were just slightly shorter then this wouldn't be a problem to begin with. Some other lines from Kohler and other brands have started using hoses on both the inlets and outlets but this is also no good for pedestal sinks as the hoses are WAY too long and are impossible too hide in the area behind the sink without them sitting exposed. Remember, a pedestal sink only has a skinny leg under it and anything jutting from the bottom of the sink over about 4" long will be seen. Simply making these tubes 1-1/2" shorter would save Kohler $ and fix the pedestal sink compatibility issue. The only thing that is good about this faucet is the same plated brass metal pop up drain assembly is used and this is one of the best from any manufacturer. Of course, this only applies if you don't buy this faucet from a home improvement store in which case it will come with a cheap plastic drain assembly. Though, even so the drain assembly isn't free of a problem. The drain linkage uses a multi holed linkage with a thumb screw to tighten and hold the pull rod to it. This thumb screw usually strips out before it tightens against the pull rod since you have to use a wrench as finger tightening never makes it tight enough. I only have this problem with Kohler thumb screws. I think it is because the threaded hole in the bracket is made too large and it causes the screw to strip in it. There is a lot of wiggle before you start to tighten it. Most other brands use the same basic design and I rarely have issues with their thumb screws/hex bolts.Quality control and engineering have taken an obvious back seat to reputation and worthwhile design and this is very evident with Kohler. Some things on the high end Kohler still makes well but don't expect anything good from their low and mid range lines. Kohler for the most part is unfortunately not the company it used to be decades ago.

Shoddy, light construction. Will need to take this out when I can get another set to replace it with something of better quality at a lower price. Can't believe I paid what I did for this.

Purchased this Kohler faucet for a downstairs bathroom that I am remodeling. This faucet is very heavy and very well made. The finish is chrome and it is flawless. Beautiful faucet that is simple and traditional contemporary design. Looks fantastic in the bathroom and highly recommended. Kohler is quality and this faucet was reasonably priced but looks very expensive. The forte collection also has matching shower faucet, towel bar, and toilet paper holder which gives the whole room a nice look

Bought this (Polished Chrome) facuet for a half bath remodle. It is made very solid, looks great, excellent water flow. I would have got the satin nickle but the price difference was over $50I have a moen that looks just like this but doesn't feel as solid.I had a question about this facuet drain, called kholer (Great Service) they said models sold from Home Depot or Lowes have the plastic drain and models sold from plumbing supply companies are metal.

The Kohler forte widespread lavatory set is very nice and modern looking. The installation is not traditional though but easy enough to do. In the end it is easier to get to the supply lines than a traditional install.
