The perfect size to fit on an indoor or outdoor window sill. I added cacti to 1 of mine and it looks great. the other i used int he kitchen and added a small rosemary plant to it which is very handy for cooking and looks nice too. There is a hole int he bottom o f the white ceramic trays so water drains too which helps you not over water.

Base is too shallow to collect overwatering or rain water. Thankfully, succulents do not require much water.
