Meet SUSTEE
SUSTEE is a modern, Japanese soil moisture sensor. The blue color indicates that there is enough water in the soil, and the while color indicate that plant is in need of watering. SUSTEE features a minimal aesthetic that doesn't take away from the beauty of your plants.

Color
Has your SUSTEE turned white? That means it is time to water! After watering, the white insert will change to a blue color. This indicates that there is enough water in the soil.
Soil
SUSTEE can be used with almost all plants that grow in soils with a certain level of moisture retention. This includes akadama soil, black earth, bark, coco peat, peat moss and vermiculite.
Insertion Depth
When inserting SUSTEE, please ensure that the Ω mark found on the stick is entirely covered. Please also make sure that the transpiration opening is visible if the stick is needing to go deeper.
Time
The time it takes to change color will depend on the amount of water given and the water retention level. When using SUSTEE for the first time, please water generously. The small stick takes approximately 3 minutes, the medium 15 minutes, and the large 25 minutes.

I used to walk around once a week and water the plants. But was never sure if they needed it. With this product there is no guesswork. As soon as the wick starts turning a light green or white you know it needs water.

I initially loved these. I probably 36, maybe 44 in plants in my house. I recently lost two tropicals and didn't know why. I did notice that my African Gardenia seemed extra wet when I disposed of it. I only watered when Sustee was white. A similar thing happened with my Michelia Figo banana shrub. The soil was really wet. Pots have very good drainage. It is a shame that I couldn't trust Sustee and have to use an additional tester. I'm very disappointed.

Update: One of the bamboo plants' sensor strip became white (i.e. needing water). Just to test it out I checked the water level with another older senser (product). It too inducated the plant was dry and needed water. Watered the plant and then sensor strip become blue again. It works and I love it.Used 2 of these for 2 separate bamboo plants. The minute there was enough water the "strip" went from white to blue. Will update review once I see if these really detect when the plants need water but so far so good.

They are so easy to use and really show you when you need to water your plants. A nice dark blue color shows easily when there is enough water in your plant and turns white when you need to water. So simple. A little expensive though!!!! Don't get the green ones of the same brand, you can't see them in the green plant!!!!
