Good basic tools for occasional tuning of 2 stroke carburetors. Just tuned Husqvarna 455 Rancher saw with 21 spline and was a good fit. Only issue is label on handle rubbed off already. Must have been shipped on a 3 legged mule! Slow shipping.

I bought a Ryobi string trimmer (model RY30544) in 2007. Out of the box, the trimmer would never stay running unless I kept the throttle open slightly. The trimmer was well-balanced, had a number of attachments, and cut like nobody's business. I loved it and wasn't going to give it up. So, I got used to holding the throttle open and never really thought about the inconvenience -- except on certain, hot days where I didn't feel like trimming but knew I had to and my fuse was short that day for one reason or another. Fast forward to 2018 (11 years later). The Ryobi is my only trimmer. I've used it twice a week during cutting season for the last 11 years... and it's still running. But, it still had the same problem, with which I dealt, as I'm cheap and didn't want to take the trimmer to a repair shop. For whatever reason, this year I got tired of it and decided to figure out what was going on. Next stop, Google. Upon researching "Ryobi weed eater won't stay started," I came across a host of results noting Ryobi is notorious for sending their trimmers out of the factory with carb's not correctly dialed in... followed by YouTube videos showing how to fix the issue yourself. [Face-Palm]. The short version is you have to use adjusters on the carb to increase or decrease gas flow. Ryobi adjuster housings are a tight fit. I tried various needle-nosed pliers, with no joy. YouTube videos will tell you you can cut a notch in the head of the adjusters and use a flat blade screwdriver to move adjuster knobs one way or the other. I wasn't doing this and don't recommend it. I love the trimmer and wasn't hacking it up after all these years. Only one YouTuber showed you how to adjust the carb knobs and noted Ryobis needed a pacman adjuster to do it. Bingo. Enter Amazon and, eventually, the HIPA Carburetor Adjustment Tool set. Here are my findings so far.Pros: The biggest pro for me, of course, is that the kit had the small pacman adjuster tool I needed. It fit perfectly, and, with it, I had the dang trimmer running better than it ever did in 11 years... after only five minutes. While elated, I was almost fit to be tied with how long I let this issue drag out. Another pro (and ultimately why I decided to pay about $16 for a set of tools when I could get the one adjuster tool I needed, by itself, for about $3 from other sellers), is that the set comes with 10 different adjusters. I have a few 2-cycle tools: chainsaws, leaf blowers, etc., all with carbs and all of which, I'm sure, will eventually need adjusted. This kit should generally have me covered, without the need to deface adjuster knobs. Yet another pro is the kit comes with carb brushes and tools. If you've ever taken apart a carb and cleaned it out -- I have, using toothbrushes and pins, and without a kit like this, unfortunately -- the cleaning tools in this kit (and carb cleaner) will help you out immensely to clean ports, etc. Finally, the tools come in a convenient, hard-shell foam carrying case to keep things together in one place, which is great vs. things being spread out in toolbox.Cons: The only con I have, which is severely nit-picky, is the fact that the motto on the case, "Fixing machines can be easier", although true, is cheesy. That is seriously my only and very minor gripe.General Thoughts: This is neither a pro or a con in my book, as the one tool I needed in the kit served my purpose really well. Regarding the quality of the adjusters, they aren't titanium alloy or anything like that. They're likely not even steel. Think Harbor Freight (if you know that store) and that's where you are quality-wise. Don't get me wrong, I'm not slamming HF. I love their tools for rare, once-in-awhile needs like this. However, I want you to know the quality you're getting... keeping in mind you're not torquing bolts or anything. The tools are intended for fine adjustments, which is exactly what you'll be doing when adjusting a 2-cycle carb. These tools fill the bill nicely. The carrying case, while well-built, is nothing to write home about. It will keep the tools organized and protected. However, if you adjust carbs for a living, I can see the elastic giving out with extended use. For me, you know, someone who adjusts a carb once ever 11 years or so, it's a nice add.Recommended Purchase?: This kit saved me a repair cost and continued headaches and finger-aches (the latter from keeping the string trimmer's throttle open all the time). It literally helped me solve an 11-year off-and-on inconvenience. Does it have a tool for every carb out there? Not from what I read in other reviews. However, it offers a host of adjusters, brushes, a case, and, most important, the small pacman tool I needed to get my Ryobi string trimmer running like a champ... even better than new. Research your carb to find out what tool it takes. Then, see if this kit has it. If not, look elsewhere. But, if the kit has the tool you need, I have zero reservation recommending the purchase and, which I almost never do if you check out my other reviews, giving it a five-star for the money and hassle it saved me with my trimmer.
