GP1 Features and Specifications

GERMAN INNOVATION: Developed in-house in Koblenz Germany by designers, ergonomic scientists and engineers who are passionate about cycling… just like you.

WINGED SHAPE: Reduces overall pressure on the hands and the ulnar nerve area while supporting the wrist in a comfortable, ergonomically ideal position. GP Series grips eliminate hand pain, numb fingers, sore wrists and forearms.

FORGED ALUMINUM CLAMP: Allows the grip angle to be adjusted for a custom fit. Can be easily readjusted as needed. Clamp eliminates twisting once tightened.

CARBON BAR COMPATIBLE: Use with all MTB handlebars including carbon bars.

22.2 DIAMETER: Fit standard MTB bar diameter at the grip mounting area.

FOR SHIFTER TYPES:

  • Standard Trigger Shifters: Right and Left grips are long.
  • Gripshift/Dual Twist Shifters: Right and Left grips are shortened.
  • Rohloff / Nexus / XX1 / Single Twist Shifters: Right grip is shortened and Left is long.

Optimized Pressure Management and Optimized Hand Positions

Ergon GP1

Problem: Soft Tissue Pain

Excessive pressure on the sensitive areas of the hands result in numb fingers.

Ergon Gp1 Grip

Solution: Soft Tissue Comfort

With an anatomically optimized design, Ergon grips offer 100% contact with the hand surface area, versus traditional round grips, offer only 60% contact.

Ergon GP1

Problem: Nerve Pain

Excessive curvature of the wrist leads to undesired kinks in the carpal tunnel nerve. This results in a burning pain in the hand or forearm.

Ergon Gp1

Solution: Nerve Relief

By correcting the hand position, the carpal tunnel nerve is relieved and pain is eliminated.

Changed out OEM grips on Specialized Vado Turbo e-bike and so much better for overall gripping and comfort. Easy to adjust and secure with single screw and easy to install with in-stem mirror. Specialized would be well advised to do a joint venture with ERGON to include these grips on all their e-bikes.

Everything to like, nothing to dislike. Excellent construction, easy fit, and very comfortable. You get what you pay for, and in this case you are paying for the best.

When you get all the angles worked out with your brakes and shifters and position your seat and handlebars correctly, these grips are wonderful. The palm of your hand can comfortably support more weight and your fore/aft balance is better and it takes some weight off your butt.

The grips spread the weight on the bars across a greater area making the contact with the bars more comfortable. They are soft yet firm with good grip. I would buy them again.

Been using these for a few years now. I decided to get the large model ( I used the S ) And it made a huge difference. Better overall grip and hold. If you use a M or L glove I recommend the Large model. It makes the riding much more comfortable and longer rides even better. You will not regret buying these

I bought these grips because the angle of my handlebars was causing wrist pain and needed something to help straighten my wrists. The grips were easy to install. Because I was going to be putting a good amount of twist on the grips I was concerned about how secure they would be. After using now several times the grips. Have relieved my wrist pain and are completely stable - the clamping system works great. Overall, I recommend these grips.
