This activity game was the first time we have ever seen our puppy play with a “puzzle “. She solved it the first time she played with it and wanted more. She even squeaked the button for more.Totally recommend for beginners. 🐶

We've got a 1 yr old mini Aussie that needs extra mental stimulation as well as anything that can help him SLOW DOWN his eating. Puzzle feeders are a great option. We've tried many. I ordered this puzzle feeder because it offers a mid-level challenge. I like that the outer covers cannot move unless they are unlocked by the vertical sliding covers. Our pup figured out the "how-to" pretty quickly. He was reasonably slowed down by the multi-step process required to move the outer covers. The puzzle is made of thick durable plastic. It shows no sign of wear despite our pup moving pieces with his feet and mouth. Cleaning it is a bit time consuming and the only drawback I've found.A fun added bonus is the squeeker button in the center.Overall, this puzzle was a hit with our dog so it gets full ratings from me.

My chihuahua is a veteran puzzle toy user so while this toy was not a challenge for her, it doesn't diminish the entertainment value of it. I would say this is a good introductory level puzzle with a few options to make it more challenging. If you and your dog are new to puzzles, here are a few options to try:1. put food in the inner open pits2. put food in the pits and cover them with the knobs3. put food in the knobs (so they have to slide and release the food)4. put food in the outside tray and cover it5. put food in the outside tray, cover it, and lock it in place with the knobs.Even though my chihuahua has mastered this toy (and others like it), she still likes to "hunt" for her food (we put her regular kibble in these toys instead of a bowl) and seems to enjoy going between a few different toys to find her dinner. She will keep checking them throughout the day in case they are magically filled with food again! Finally, the toy itself seems sturdy and the grips on the bottom are better than others - absolutely no sliding this one around. It's also easy to clean with just a dish rag.

I got this puzzle toy for my parents yorkie- territory puppy as he is very smart and curious. He was very easily able to figure out level one, but level two made him have to work for the treats without getting too frustrated. It is a very fun and easy thing to bring out on a rainy day to keep him entertained for 20 minutes. Overall, I love this puzzle toy and would recommend it.

I have a 6 month old puppy whose energy reserves are the stuff of legends. There are only so many walks I can take him on in a day. Then I was reminded that besides physical means, mental exercises exhaust dogs even more, and in a shorter time too. My puppy is so invested in this puzzle and for good reason:- The puzzle configurations are endless. A new configuration no matter how little it may have differed from previous one still poses a challenge for my dog.- My dog is tireless, almost manic even to get his kibble out of the toy. But one or two rounds of this.. he goes straight off to sleep.. and it's bliss (for me) for the next several hours- When all else fails for brain challenges, my dog resorts to muscle. He's tried to bite off the covers many times but without success. So, the sturdiness of this is assured. Just be sure that you're also monitoring him when he's playing with this.- The dispenser inevitably gets moved around, a lot, when the dog is on it. At the base of the dispenser this toy are 4 anti-slip pads that locks down the dispenser onto the floor surface so it doesn't get thrashed around. I've used it on my wood floors and once locked down, the dispenser can't move even a millimetre. The pads do not leave a residue and is reusable and good as new after a good wipe. In between uses, I stick cut up pieces of parchment paper to it so it doesn't stick to anything else.- It's easily washable.- It's a rather noisy toy so I play it only during the day.

I have looked at KADTC dog puzzle toys many times on Amazon, but I have never bought one before because of features I don't like: 1) the holes in the sliding pieces or the flip-lids are so large a dog can easily get food out with his tongue, 2) there is no need for a squeak feature, 3) they are expensive.Regarding this specific puzzle toy, I like the following features: 1) the holes on top of the flip-up lids are small and no dog can get a tongue in there to get the food, 2) the sliding lids have a raised dog-paw design that is easy for dogs to grab onto to move the lids, 3) the silicone pads on the bottom of the puzzle hold it in place on my carpet.I don't like the following features: 1) the flip-up lids get stuck sometimes and the dogs can't open them, 2) because of the design of the puzzle with the plastic piece that covers the entire bottom, it is hard to get all the water to drain out and to know when it has drained out after you wash it.I didn't know this toy had a squeaker. One of my dogs attacks any toy that squeaks and tears it apart. So far, he has been interested in the treats, not the squeaks. The other dog is afraid of the sound the flip-up lid makes when it snaps open. Just letting you know in case you too have a dog who is afraid of everything.I used to have my dogs play with puzzles occasionally and when bad weather didn't permit outdoor activities. One of my dogs just recently can no longer play with his puzzles that require him to remove a bone to get to a treat. He doesn't know what to do with the bone anymore. He looks at it and then walks away. So now I have my dogs do puzzles every day. I want to keep those doggie brains working!Note: I own 12 different dog puzzle toys ranging from level 1 to level 4. I usually buy 2 of the same puzzle so my dogs can do their puzzles at the same time. I always stay with them during puzzle time and immediately put the puzzles away as soon as they are done finding their treats.
