I used this to drill small holes at the top of terracotta ollas (to put 1/4” drip into ollas to replenish water). Drill works very well. Only hiccup was that the terracotta clogged the bit after each one, but I used a rigid wire to clear it out. Not a big deal. Clean holes and didn’t crack the pottery at all.

I bought this to make four holes in the tile wall behind my kitchen range for a magnetic rack. Even using the tape trick, I had a lot of difficulty getting the holes to start, and keeping the bit from walking. I eventually had great results using 2-3 pieces of duct tape with a 1/4" hole pre-drilled through it placed over another piece of duct tape marking the location to be drilled, drilling the "marker" tape with a standard 1/4" bit to scratch up the surface of the tile, and finally switching to this bit for the main task. I kept a glass of ice water and a toothpick nearby to cool and clean out the bit after about every 20 seconds of drilling with a firm pressure on the back of the drill. I wasn't too worried about burning up the bit as I knew I only needed 4 holes and hope to never drill tile again, but it still seemed functional at the end of the task. After getting through the tile I switched back to the standard 1/4" bit to clean out the hole and finish drilling whatever was behind it. After the holes were made I hammered in "TOGGLER ALLIGATOR AF6 Flanged Anchor with Screws" and used the screws it included instead of the tiny ones included with the shelf. Honestly the TOGGLERs were the best part of the job, they went in easy, didn't crack the tiles and feel rock solid. As painful as the process was, the shelf is up, looks professional and the only evidence of how much cursing it took is in the minds of the children. It should be noted that most of my experience in home improvement is as a "helper" growing up, so your results may be less painful if you are an experienced "doer". Expect it to take a long time, and don't put pressure on yourself to rush. CHECK AFTER EVERY HOLE - The hole may not start exactly where you want it - make sure with shelves and such that the next hole will fit in the location you marked before starting! (I would have been in big trouble if I hadn't) Good luck!

An incredible tool, that worked perfectly, and didn't cost a fortune.Recently, I replaced my bathroom floor with porcelain tile, and had to remove the old toilet first. The old toilet ring was recessed, so i just abandoned it under the new floor. But, then I was tasked with installing a new "hold down" ring for the new toilet.I studied several Youtube videos on installing the plate, and talked to people who had recently drilled thru porcelain tile. They all gave me the impression I was in for a long, tedious project. I purchased some other "diamond tipped" drill bits that seemed to have little impact on the tile. Then, (since it took weeks for the other bits to arrive) I ordered this DeWalt 1/4 inch Diamond Drill Bit. Following instructions, by using a portable drill and applying water, the bit drilled thru the tile with ease, in a matter of minutes. I had 5 holes drilled in no time.To apply the water, I used a plant spray bottle, and just squirted a little water every minute or so. No problem. I didn't even see steam from the bit when I dipped it in water.I just want to say, the Diamond Drill Bit by DeWalt made a challenging job easier than I expected. And the bit looks like I could use it for many more holes
