I like buying by the roll as it allows me to make items custom sized. This material was okay to work with. It broke quite a few needles on my sewing machine. I added grommets for customization. The coating is really substantial, and it coated my hands as I worked with it, so wash your hands throughly after working with the fabric. So far, so good. I needed something light because the patio I put it on goes through a windy season and I want to make sure the panels hold up.

Quotes for 6 shades from local companies were around $1000. Did these myself for around $300. Material is easy to work with, has some stretch to compensate for odd shapes or faulty measures and provides ALOT of shade. Used grommets to make mounting points more durable. Highly recommend this product.

Very impressed so far with this product. Packaged well and it’s a heavy roll that you’ll receive. Rolls out nicely and no apparent creases at the 3’ fold. Stretched well and was easy to staple to our pool equipment frame. It is heavy duty material and does a great job of blocking to sun keeping damage to the fiberglass equipment to a minimum. We’ll see how it stands up to the next hurricane or tropical storm here in Florida.

DO I love the look of it, just hanging there on my porch or in front of our windows, like a forlorn, limp, used dish-rag? Of course I don't, especially since we could not find clips that are lighter in colour & match the grey fabric better. What I do LOVE, tho, is the fact that screening the porch with this INSTANTLY lowered the temp on it by about 10F, while still installing; then, when fully installed, it now consistently drops the temp by about 20 INSIDE the house's front entrance, and about 20-25 (depending on the heat outside) in the big bay window where my plants are & 5 parrots roam: NO MORE BAKED COCKATOO OR AMAZON! =DThe other room with a small window also has much reduced temp, to the point that when it was 114F outside a couple weeks ago it 'only' registered 95 at the window's glass with the window open, and then dropped to 90 when I closed the window. That's a huge difference in QOL (Quality of Life), as well in energy efficiency & electricity savings for our small room ACsWhy did we not do better looking awning-style ones, and screened the porch permanently, & just hung them there like this? Because we will be replacing siding & windows soon & painting everything anew, & there was no point creating / buying expensive units when they'll have to be changed to match the whole laterRight now, the front porch one is set on a cord so it can slide for entering, opening / closing, the window ones are just hanging from the eaves with those UGH-cringe clips (SEE PICTURE)The large roll was way cheaper to buy than the equivalent smaller pieces needed for this set-up. Will use the half that's still left later probably to create shade frames some of the garden plants that are getting beat by this increasing PNW relentless summer heatDO NOT LOVE that there are no clips nor the 'sewing' cord for creating neater edges anywhere, including at the manufacturer's website that match the various colours of shade offered: you can have black, black, or even light black (supposedly the clips we bought were listed as grey: they are just a 'light black; really, not grey at all, as you can see from pictures)Overall, I highly recommend Colaroo's material for QUALITY vs quantity vs cost . Looked at many, many others, and none compared or even came close to competing for quality. There are some cheaper, but not for a 90% UV protection that is also available in colours other than UGLY GREEN & the incomparable UGLIER BROWN. If you are creating your own shade-wings, awnings, screened porch, this is the way to do it. If you are creating a permanent set-up, there are ways to attach the material to the porch or frames that is not so fugly as what we did: it was just not worth it doing so for us at this time
