The Universal Element Adapter kit allows you to replace your flat, universal or round flange element with a standard screw-in element. The kit contains all pieces for use including one 2-1/2" 4-bolt Adapt-a-Flange, one four hole gasket, four 5/16" - 18x5/8" long hex flange-head bolts, one screw-in element gasket and one thermostat bracket. Product includes one adapter kit, tools for instillation not included.

I liked the concept, the old 80's MOR-FLO water heater that I have it would not work on. As the kit came it was impossible to get it to stop leaking. I swapped in an o-ring that I had and got the bottom unit to stop, never managed to get the top to stop. It should work, it just didn't.

These adapters fit great into our 30 year old concrete-lined virtually-bulletproof water heater. That let us replace both top and bottom elements with the style that is much more commonly found these days. In this case we chose Camco elements from here also.
