These are the first non-shimano H03C brake pads I have tried besides the stock surron brake pads which are not good. I'm running Shimano in the back and these up front on an oversized Surron build. You can notice that these pads have smaller heat dissipation fins than the Shimano ones and they also feel slightly different. Overall the stop much better than the stock Surron pads but not quite as good as Shimano brand pads which is the golden standard for this brake type. When braking, these pads sound grittier than the shimano ones but they do a decent job of slowing my bike down even at high speeds. And I've never had any overheating issues with these (although I am testing them in winter). They sound sort of grimy when stopping. Like a grinding sound almost. Most likely due to the fact that they are metal pads. Also, when they get wet, they squeal very loudly similar to the stock Surron pads. This squealing is very annoying and embarrassing but it only happens when you ride in the rain or snow. When it is dry they have a much quieter grinding sound. If you need brake pads on a budget, these are better than the stock Surron ones at least but not much better. Shimano brake pads stop better and don't squeal in the rain so its hard to recommend these over Shimano. They will stop you but it probably won't sound nice. Brake pads are worth spending some money on so I would recommend Shimano if you have a Surron. If you just need these for a mountain bike, then go for it but they will probably still not sound great.Overall I'm a bit disappointed with these. I had high hopes for a decent budget brake pad option but this is not it. These rank somewhere in between stock Surron pads and Shimano H03C pads.
