Using it to drill pilot holes in old good quality pine with my impact driver for #6 and #8 screws. My drill is too long to get into the space so my shorter impact driver with this short drill bit is perfect. Appropriate hole size for both screw sizes but #8 fits snug and most perfectly. Not doing anything taxing but it seems a durable piece of quality metal and drills through like butter. Should work great on harder woods too. Very happy with my purchase and it has sped up my project of screwing down metal hard cloth pieces in order to rodent-proof my shed.

I have lots of wood drill bits. I bought this to drill through some mild steel. It was very sharp and cut fast. On the third hole it broke in half. I don't know if the one I got was defective, or if I was pushing it too hard. I'm a professional, and it's not like I don't know how to drill a hole.
