Worked in my 1996 firebird! Strong lifts, holds up a heavy spoiler. Only thing was the right side rubber seal was kinda on the wrong side, so it doesn't fit perfectly. I'd give it more of a 4.5 for that. Required too as the trunk has slots to store the T-Roof, which would be really hard to store alone.

Worked perfect in my 1993 Pontiac Firebird. Turn the key it opens on its own. And holds it open no problem
can do!

Great value - replaced the stock lifts that were not holding up anymore with these. They keep the hatch on my 1997 T/A up great! Only issue was that it seems the rubber shrouds are on backwards - I inverted them by stretching them through to get the "lip" on the other side of the rubber piece. Also make sure you have a Torx T50 bit handy!

Paid a fraction of the cost of a GM part and has worked great.

Fits 2002 Pontiac Firebird just fine. Fairly easy to install if you are careful and keep in mind the hatch needs to be supported while you are changing them out. I strapped my hatch to the garage door ceiling anchors temporarily. Also be careful not to drop that large screw down into behind the interior molding. I always use one hand to hold it while the other holds the socket wrench handle so it won't fall. I could not get the robber flashing to stay in. I'm wondering if they were installed onto the struts backwards? So far they have not failed......Will update this review later if they fail prematurely.
