Fit perfect, you might need someone to help holding the trunk up but so far so good

In order to mount these struts you must remove a tiny silver clip from either end. The clip is small and hard to hold on to and almost impossible to install when the strut is on its mounting pin. I had to unbolt the mounting point brackets install the strut on the mounting pin and reinstall on the vehicle. One strut is not enough to hold up the hatch so I had to find a board to hold up the hatch while installing them. I had just used a different brand for the rear hatch back glass and they used the same clips as the original mounting clips and they were much easier to install back in the ball head. Once installed they operate correctly. I cant tell you how many times a dropped the little silver pin that held the strut on its mounting point but it was a lot!

It makes noises and gets rusty rather easily. Good price though not as premium as you would expect for the name premium.

The product works good. But you need to buy the adapter kit. The factory mounts don't come off.

I installed this on my 2013 Highlander Limited AWD (power lift game and JBL speakers). I read some other reviews stating that these are a bit too powerful in lifting force. I took caution and only installed the strut on one side of my trunk and it seems to work very well. My old struts were not holding the trunk fully up anymore, it would sink back down and hit you on the head eventually, especially in the winter. They were very easy to install, easier than the OEM ones. just make sure to remove the pin on the ends first , slide them on and reinsert the pins. If the strut seems a bit long just push your trunk door up higher and the ball joint should go right in. Great value and so far so good.

Facile à installer et vraiment efficace. ceux d'origine manquaient de vitesse, n'ouvrait plus la porte complètement.

I can only speak authoritatively about my own 2008 Highlander here, but I would give this same advice to anyone, with any make or model.Yes, order yourself some new lifts if the old ones aren't doing the job anymore. Stop bashing your skull on a liftgate that doesn't open fully in a decent amount of time. BUT:Also go to liftsupportsdepot.com, look up how much the mounting brackets are for your model, and buy them. I actually paid a couple dollars more for the brackets than I did for the lifts - if I hadn't, the lifts would still be in the box and I'd still be bashing my head. The lifts that were on the Highlander could NOT be removed from the mounting posts. COULD. NOT.I managed to finally hammer off the piston end, but the other end would not give it up, no pin to remove, no clip to pry up, it was either a fully internal retaining ring or a factory heated press-fit part. Nothing would make it cooperate, and as I was hammering on a tube full of highly compressed gas hard enough to dent it, it occurred to me that was a bad idea. There are other reasons you want fresh mounts. Instead of trying to re-insert a tiny, oddly shaped pin into a tiny hole with minimal clearance and watching it clatter to the ground (if you're lucky) over and over, you can take off one whole unit by simply unscrewing four bolts, take it to the bench, assemble your new unit in comfort, then just go bolt the whole thing on, no mess, no fuss. The still assembled old unit is there for reference, the other side (still mounted on the vehicle) is there for reference, all of your bases are covered, and what should be a 30 minute job will actually BE a 30 minute job. By the way, a 6-foot stepladder and a couple blocks of wood are your friend for supporting the liftgate while you work. Now, the product review:Instructions are non existent. Read above and hit up YouTube, or wait for your brackets to show up, liftsupportsdepot.com actually provides decent instructions on a single sheet of paper.Lifting power: wow, yes, plenty. The liftgate that used to start kinda trying to open itself after I'd already lifted it halfway up, now powers itself to fully open once I get past about three inches. Don't want to get my jaw on the way of that, it's just short of violent how fast it completely opens.Closing: harder than before. I can close it, wife struggles to do so but can eventually manage. I am hopeful that will get a bit easier as they break in, and cold temps will help (none of these perform as well in cold.)Worth the money? Heck yeah. Just please re-read the part about buying replacement mounts before you buy.
