Great steps, but pain in the A to hook up the electrical on a 2018 dodge 2500. Dodge puts the panel in the worst spot.

Great fitment and great quality. Came alittle scuffed up from shipping though but it was minor. If you haven’t done much for part installs before I’d recommend getting a shop to install It. Works great with no issues!

Ok $1200 is a big hit in the wallet, and because of that I was on the fence a long time, now I regret not doing this sooner but for a different reason. I originally did not like the fixed running boards because they hung down, were always dirty, were slippery, and had started to corrode. But once I installed these I actually use the step getting out of the vehicle, before I just turned and slid out of the seat to the ground, this was causing the leather to become damaged and the foam started to sag. They are not slick in the rain, because they tuck up under the truck they are mostly clear of snow and ice. Installation was straightforward forward but I'm glad I had an angle drill, it took several hours, but I installed then on the driveway. I did not care for the paper template for the holes I think they could make it out of better material. I had a problem with the steps catching on the bottom lip of the cab in the retracted position (they would not extend when the door was opened), several places recommended bouncing on the step in the extended position. This did the trick and I have never had an issue since the first day. The lights do a good job of illuminating the step and ground at night. I did have a rock hit the plastic bezel on one of the lights and come off but the light still works, I have not checked to see if I can just replace the bezel or do I need to change the light assembly.Wiring instructions were easy to follow and the connectors were of good quality, I used heat shrink on each connection. It's been over a year and I am very satisfied with the steps, if I ever replace this truck I will install them right away.

4 star only because of not so easy to reach wiring harness on truck, not for product. went with this due to price, BIG mistake. instructions are easy to follow. had to disassemble under dash. on ram 2500 awesome product but, order plug and play. there's a lot of wiring harness underneath dash. had to remove side control module, next to parking brake, remove side panel to see top screw for control module. cant be seen from bottom. then you can have access to connector plugs in control module, disconnect plugs then separate wiring to find proper one to tap into. not easy one handed on your back, seat rail poking your back. didn't like tapping into such delicate wiring, wish had known better. after installed and once steps deploy for first time, forgot all about headaches. they look awesome. and are well made. I good old USA.

If I could give these boards a zero star rating I would. Nothing but problems with these boards. Twice the boards have been stuck in the down position and will not fold up. Warranty has covered the issues but it really shouldn’t be an issue when you pay this much. My truck is driven in the city and yet I am consistently having the same issue. Save your money and buy something different. This is the only review you have to read so you don’t regret your decision.

I ordered the 75138-01A for my 2017 Ram 3500 Megacab truck on the recommendation of AMP Research. I did not want the "plug and play" wiring setup they have (which as of the time of ordering was the only option for my year truck) and the technician recommended the 75138-01A hard-wired version. He mentioned there may have been a wiring color change since the 75138-01A was made for trucks up to 2015, but I was able to confirm with the factory service manual (online version, with wiring diagrams) and in my truck that the wiring colors match the 2015 trucks. Install was a pain on my truck, but that was due to the pinch welds along the bottom of the truck...I had to do a lot of grinding of the sheet metal and of some of the bolt holes through the pinch weld (which was mentioned as a possibility in the install manual)...that is not a defect/problem with the AMP boards, but just manufacturing variance of the truck. My previous set of PowerStep boards (for a 2005 Ram 3500) installed easily with no massaging of the metal of the truck.I had my previous PowerStep boards for 11+ years on my previous truck and had 0 problems with them, so I wanted another set for my new truck. When I got the new ones installed on my new truck, I had an odd problem that I couldn't find anyone describe on the internet. The boards would extend/retract correctly with doors open/closed. But about 30 seconds after all the lights on the truck went out after closing all doors, the boards would extend again and stay extended (with the included LED lights on) until I opened a door, locked/unlocked the truck, etc. I called AMP Research and talked with a rep (surprisingly the same rep I talked with months prior about which model to get for my truck) and he said it sounded like I was shipped the wrong controller, he said it sounded like I received a controller for a plug-n-play kit instead of the hard-wired kit. He promptly send me a replacement controller (no charge) and it arrived the very next day (I was expecting ground shipping, not next day so I was very surprised!) and I got it installed. that same day. It works perfectly now!Cons: The install (for me) was much more difficult than my previous PowerSteps, but I chalk that up to variance in the truck, not the boardsPros: Great looking boards, work very quickly. Also Excellent customer service (thanks, Chris!)!I will buy from them again, and I highly recommend these boards. My wife and I are very happy with the boards on the truck.

It just doesn't get any better. I had OEM power steps on a Chevy Suburban, and they were just cool. When I upgraded to a diesel pickup, I ordered it without factory steps with these Power Steps in mind. They might seem a little spendy, but they're a truly OEM quality product, and you can tell that they're precision engineered to last. They're nearly silent, completely smooth; they are engineering perfection.Installation can take some time if you've never done one of these before. I do suggest downloading the owners manual from their web site while you're waiting for them to be shipped to you, and study for a day or two before tackling the installation. I even had the assistance of a neighbor that had installed a set on his Ford Superduty a couple of years prior, and it still took me most of a day.Installing them on my 2014 Ram 2500 Mega Cab was fairly straightforward with minimal drilling. The only drilling was for the rivets, and for the light wires to pass through the pinch welds. These are tiny holes, nothing crazy. The mechanical component of installation was easy, but the electrical installation on this newer Ram was a little tricky because you have to tap into wires under the dash. Be prepared to be sore the next day after contorting yourself under the dash a bit.Bottom line, you can't possibly ask for a finer product. Set aside plenty of time for installation, maybe even spread it out over a couple of days if you can. It will be worth the effort, they're just gorgeous.
