These save me from buying new dehumidifiers, have several that never last more than 2 years before needing to be recharged with freon. I used R134 and they work fine, don't spend a bunch of cash on the gas that is supposed to be in them, 134 works with less pressure than what usually comes in the units that I have, The 30 year old dehumidifiers must be thicker metal and better solder because they seem to last forever. Only add a small amount of gas at a time until the evaporator is cool almost to the top, if you have experience in automotive air, you may have some sealant leak detector that you can add a little, may get more than a year or two before needing recharge. Polish the spot where this valve will go so the small O ring can do its job and not leak.
