I used this for my patio cover with 4x lumber size rafters. It's a perfect fit for 4x lumber. If you were thinking about using this for two 2x pieces of wood sistered together, then this bracket would be too big for you. The bracket has a aesthetically pleasing black coating. When used in an exposed setting, it looks very nice. Would buy again.

These clips worked out great for a small shelter I am building. This is a decorative type of structure with a low slope roof using 4” x 4” rafters. The width of the clips is 3-5/8” which is typically what a pressure treated 4” x 4” will measure around our area.The gauge of the steel is thick enough and the black powder finish looks good. The metal is clean with no burrs or sharp edges.As expensive as anything made of metal has become the last three years, these are very fairly priced... especially compared to what you’ll find at your nearest big box.
