This is a cable gland with a strong plastic outer shell and a soft rubber inner seal. As the outer shell is tightened, in inner rubber part creates a watertight seal around conduit or pipe.The hole in the centre of the rubber seal is large enough to accommodate a standard Cat 5 cable end and it is a good fit with 1/2" copper pipe. The rubber seals extremely well against the pipe with only a little tightening of the cap.There are four holes in the flange for mounting to a bulkhead with screws or bolts.The outer facing plastic cap looks good and the plastic housing looks strong enough to last for many years.
