I have several BSA Sweet scopes. They are actually excellent and full of good features for inexpensive scopes. I bought this one from Amazon Resale and that is the problem. I don't want to ding the product for a problem I have with Amazon Resale but I could not find a way to leave a review for the seller. Here are my issues. It was open box, which I understood going in, but it shipped in a plastic bag inside a lightly padded envelope. It is an optic with glass lenses and it was shipped in an envelope, that was ignorant. It was missing two of the three turrets that ship with a new one I can buy new turrets from the manufacturer, it cost me $18 to do that, for an item that was $13 less than the new item. Amazon customer service was great and refunded a portion of my additional cost. The third issue was when I went to mount it to my rifle one of the dovetail clamps to screw the rings to the weaver rail was missing. I had to mount it using my own rings because the included rings were incomplete. I would have been so much better off just buying new. Amazon Resale failed. In summar, the BSA scopes are great value priced optics, Amazon Resale failed.

I used it for an old Marlin model 60 and it was good. I now use Vortech scopes because the clarity is amazing. Spend more and hit every time.

I needed a 4-12 scope for a .22 caliber target rifle and since the BSA Sweet 22 wasn't available (I have one on another rifle), I decided to try this one - it was a great choice. The lenses are sharp, turrets adjust firmly, but easily and construction is first-class. I didn't use the accompanying mounts, since I already had a set so cannot comment on them. A nice feature is the screw on aluminum lens caps (to which I immediately applied bright orange marking tape to reduce chance of loss). After bore sighting it only took 5 shots to get the reticle on-target and I was shooting 1/2" groups at 50 yards. For the price you get a lot of value for the money - I wouldn't hesitate to buy another if needed.

Have experience with the Sweet 243 version and it has had zero issues for almost 7 years, this 223 version is exactly the same. Those complaining are unrealistically comparing it to a high end tactical scope, that's unfair. The product works just fine and for the price, absolutely no complaints. Now.....AR folks with a full length flat top upper will need a riser. The front bell has the focus feature so it rubs and does not travel smooth as well at it being too low for line of sight. It comes with high mount 1" rings but still a riser is a must.
