Habe diese Festplatte gekauft, weil die ursprünglich in meinem 13 Zoll Macbook Pro verbaute Platte mit 5400 Umdrehungen gefühlt doch sehr langsam war. Eine SSD dieser Kapazität war es mir vom Preis-/Leistungsverhätnis einfach nicht wert. Und mit 128 oder 256 GB komme ich nicht weit.Also Platte bestellt, nach ca einer Woche war sie da. Macbook auf, alte Platte raus, neue Platte rein (zum Glück hatte ich zufällig einen passenden Torx-Dreher für die Befestigungschrauben im Haus), das ganze hat ca. 10 Minuten gedauert. Mac OS X neu installiert, fertig.Bisherige Erfahrungen nach drei Tagen Benutzung:Das Macbook startet definitiv 10-15 Sek. schneller, auch die Programme öffnen sich gefühlt deutlich flinker als vorher. Das Kopieren von Daten von einem USB Stick auf die Platte geht nun fast doppelt so schnell, habe das vorher mit der alten Platte gemessen.Ich war vor dem Kauf am schwanken, ob ich diese Platte, oder die preislich vergleichbare WD7500BPKT Black 750GB von Western Digital nehme. Da allerdings in den Rezensionen auf Amazon zum Teil auch negative Aussagen, bzgl der Lautstärke und den Vibrationen der WD Platte zu lesen waren, entschied ich mich für die Seagate. Ich denke das war die richtige Entscheidung!!! Die Platte ist laut meiner subjektiven Wahrnehmung genauso laut bzw. leise wie die 5400er, also quasi NICHT zu hören. Die schnellere Umdrehungszahl merkt man, wenn man die Handfläche genau da auflegt wo die Platte verbaut ist. Es ist aber wirklich nur ein ganz sanftes Vibrieren, und stört keineswegs beim alltäglichen Arbeiten.Inwieweit sich die schnellere Platte auf die Akkuleistung auswirkt, kann ich nach drei Tagen noch nicht beeurteilen, vielleicht sind es 5 oder 10 % weniger als vorher, aber damit kann ich leben.Alles in allem eine super Festplatte, kann ich nur bestens weiter empfehlen!

The Seagate hardrive is fast and great. It came out as I expected. The delivery and the service by Amazon was great. I ordered this along with another product and I never payed for fast delivery. But Amazon delivered this product earlier instead of waiting to package both order together... 5 star to amazon service

I purchased this drive to upgrade a MacBook Pro 13" (Mid-2010) after two WD Scorpio Blue 640GB drives failed. The performance beats both the stock Apple/Hitachi and the WD hands down. Works well. I had to replace my hard drive when my Lenovo started complaining about bad sectors. Although I had bought an extended warranty with Future Shop their personnel were telling me that it would take 10 days to two weeks for them to replace my drive, and I would lose all my installed programmes. I told them what to do with their warranty and their service, and bought the drive on line. Came amazingly fast, and I was able to install within a very short time. Did not lose a thing in the process. Laptop like new, even faster.

I bought this to upgrade an older dell latitude E1505 laptop. That laptop had a older 5400 RPM low capacity hard drive. This is the 3rd time I have bought the momentus hybrid drive. I've bought 2 500GB drives and now this 320GB drive. They are not as fast as a Solid state drive but do offer better performance then a comparable regular 7200 drive. I would compare to 10k RPM drives, but you don't have the extra heat or noise. The other 2 drives are now about 2 years old and are in a latitude E6410 and a Dell XPS laptop. They all now perform fantastic with improved startup and access then the older 5400 rpm drives they replacedRemember any drive that is 3-5 years old is just a ticking time bomb. I would think about replacing any hard drive at 3 years and replace ASAP at 5 years. For the price, its a great insurance policy. If you don't want to replace, then make sure that computer is not being used in a high cost or need situation. No matter what you should always have a solid backup system. I use a combination of a easy access USB flash drive and a online replication service like dropbox or google drive. I also recommend carbonite to those not concerned with mobility of information.

My HDD packed in so looked around for a while and this seemed the best option. It did the trick and my laptop is now functioning again!
