I'm not going to lie, I expected this thing to be just another digital weather rock. And to be honest, it doesn't do much, but what it does do, it does well.I guess I'll start with the cons and get that out of the way. Big con - batteries. Lots of batteries. 3 in one piece, 2 in the other, all AAA (the add says AAA in one and AA in the other but that's not right). So many things today are rechargeable, amd man I would love for this to be, but its not. And to be honest, when the batteries die in the sensor part I won't replace them. Keep reading....I don't have a working thermometer in the house, other than the one on the old remote on our old heat pump. So when I want to know the temperature in the living room (which I do often to adjust the heat) I had to reach for that old remote. I got this to replace that, and it did. That old remote is already gone. This little gizmo gives an accurate reading for both the base unit and sensor unit. The last photo was taken with both in the same room only feet apart. As you can see, the temperature is identical and the humidity, almost. I haven't put the sensor outside because, like I said, I got this for inside use, but I might put it out there just to see what it says. It's not raining currently, as it says, but it is supposed to later today.I've not docked any stars for the batteries because I knew when I ordered it that it took batteries, so that wouldn't be fair, but I have docked one because I can't open the battery compartment on the sensor part without a pair of scissors or a knife. It's very, very difficult for me. That's the only problem. Beyond that, this thing does what it says it will. I just wish it did it with rechargeable batteries.UPDATE: I've docked additional stars on this product. The reason for that is that the two units will not stay synched. They did for a day and not since, not matter what I do. I can put them side by side and still nothing. So the exterior or sensor unit is no good to us and I'm keeping the display unit, as I did from the beginning, just to tell me the temperature in the house.

I've always been a fan of these types of weather stations and was eager to give this ORIA version a try and I am very happy with it.It is super easy to setup. You will be required to provide a total of five AAA batteries (3 for the base and 2 for the transmitter)The most difficult part of the setup was removing the battery cover from the transmitter but with a bit of force it did slide off.I like the back light option and cycling through the MIN/MAX options is super simple with the push of a button. The humidity and different weather symbols is also nice to see what it happening and what could be coming weather wise.I am very happy with the weather station so far. It does what is says it will do nicely and that's all I can ask for.
