The shoe trees were not the same size as in the photo. They were too small.

Does not work for size 12 shoes, although it is advertised as one size fits all. I would say size 9-10 is the largest that will work with these. Not terrible for the price, but falsely advertised.

Those are springs, not threaded rods in case you're wondering. The spring flexes & bends for you to insert into the shoe, then pushes the ends into the toe and heel. So a smaller shoe will have have more force pushing in it compared to a larger shoe where the spring lies flatter. I suppose a very thin or delicate shoe material might be negatively affected by the ball-end pushing into it. So it's not perfect, it's not really a shoe tree in the traditional sense (as far as I'm concerned, anyway) but it's inexpensive and will work most of the time. The real downside is that on smaller shoes, again, the flexed spring will be bowing out of the top of the show, making storage less easy. But also again, this is not an heirloom device, but it's adequate to the task.
