Meet SUSTEE

SUSTEE is a modern, Japanese soil moisture sensor. The blue color indicates that there is enough water in the soil, and the while color indicate that plant is in need of watering. SUSTEE features a minimal aesthetic that doesn't take away from the beauty of your plants.

SUSTEE

Sustee 01

Color

Has your SUSTEE turned white? That means it is time to water! After watering, the white insert will change to a blue color. This indicates that there is enough water in the soil.

Sustee 02

Soil

SUSTEE can be used with almost all plants that grow in soils with a certain level of moisture retention. This includes akadama soil, black earth, bark, coco peat, peat moss and vermiculite.

Sustee 03

Insertion Depth

When inserting SUSTEE, please ensure that the Ω mark found on the stick is entirely covered. Please also make sure that the transpiration opening is visible if the stick is needing to go deeper.

Sustee 04

Time

The time it takes to change color will depend on the amount of water given and the water retention level. When using SUSTEE for the first time, please water generously. The small stick takes approximately 3 minutes, the medium 15 minutes, and the large 25 minutes.

Such a neat product and it works as suggested. This is the longest time that I’ve ever kept a live plant alive 😀

I wasn't sure about these when they first arrived. I put one in a succulent pot and gave it to my aunt. After getting great feedback on it I decided to give it a shot on one of my plants. It works like a charm for my snake plant. If you wait until it's completely white the soil will be very dry. It's great for plants that need to dry out between waterings. You need to make sure you don't over insert it into the soil too. It must be between the little arrows to work effectively. I'll be buying more in other sizes!

I cannot speak to the longevity of it, but I'm glad I got the small size. It's perfect for small to medium pots and not too thick. When soaking a plant for watering, it changed color in just a few minutes. Now I know I've been oversoaking. It really serves its function and teaches about the plant water level in a very simple way.

I actually bought small, medium and large for my house plants. So far they have worked really well. Some plants you have trouble telling if the need water or not. With these you just check to see if they’re still blue. When they turn white water your plants. Do wait a little while after watering the plant because sometimes you haven’t watered enough and you’ll know when it is still white or barely blue. I recommend these for your house plants. I may try them in some of my potted plants this summer. Decided to let people know that after awhile these do not work properly. It was way less than 6 months when one turned slimy green inside, another was showing the plant didn’t need water( luckily I figured it out before I lost the plant), others didn’t turn blue(Again I almost lost plants for overwatering). Can’t find the “replacements and i’m not sure I want to spend more money for short of a time!

Works well. So nice to be able just to check for color changes to know whether my plants need water.Easy to use. However, on first use I did have to pour water over the top of the stick. At first, I watered the plants then put the sticks into the plants but neither stick changed color. So I thought about it for a while and decided to try wetting the top of the sticks by pouring water over them. They changed color and after that they worked like a charm.

I bought 4 - two didn't work at all and the other two turned blue when the soil was freshly watered but were white again the next day. Save your money.
