This is simply a gorgeous set of paper dolls. Tom Tierney doesn't disappoint. There are two dolls; The young Queen Victoria of England, and the stylish Empress of France. There are 24 exquisite costumes. There has a lot of attention to detail. The dolls do not have stands but fold back at the bottom and have instructions for making a brace to help hold them up. The whole set is on beautiful sturdy paperboard with a matte finish . There are several paragraphs about the fashion designs of the Victorian era as well. All in all it's a very nice set.

I loved paper dolls as a child. My favorite era to read about is the Victorian years. I combined the two with this book and have some of the dresses cut out and framed in my craft area. They are beautiful dresses and good quality paper.

This book has two dolls, young Queen Victoria of England and Empress Eugenie of France. Both are very nicely done. The fashions in this book cover everything from Gagelin & Opigez fashion house to Charles Fredrick Worth. The costumes are exquisite, beginning with styles of the late 1830's that included the wide bell-like skirts all the way to the elegant fashions of 1900. Tom Tierney once again produces an excellent book with true representations of the couture styles and fashions of the Era. The dolls and costumes are not perforated, you will need small point scissors to cut them out. These fashions are meant to be admired and used as a fashion tool and guide for the Era and designers and are not meant for children (In my opinion)

This book contains 2 dolls and 28 costumes with an introduction to every costume. It begins with a gown from 1836 and the latest ones are from 1900 - so you get a good variety of victorian gowns. The "models" are young Queen Victoria and Empress Eugénie of France. There are some wonderful gowns from Worth, Harper`s Bazaar and even a wonderful "Gone with the wind"-looking-like evening dress from Journal des Demoiselles. The costumes are very detailed and have their own hats or different hairdos attached to it, so you can`t loose them, if you cut out the dolls.I think, it`s a wonderful book and you even learn a bit about Victoria, Eugénie (who was very beautiful and stylish) and the fashion of the Victorian Era.
