My home is older, and the spigot extends several inches from the wall. It is hard to use a styrofoam cover because it does not fit snugly up against the wall.I like these faucet protectors because they do cover most of the spigot and pipe, are easy to secure, are easy to install and remove, and can be combined with a wrapped towel, if needed, to add length to the protection of the pipe where the pipe meets the wall.

These were super easy to install. Turn off the valve for the outdoor bibs, drain the faucets, then put these on and you’re done! Easy way to winterize your home. I suggest doing this every Thanksgiving to ensure you don’t end up with frozen pipes while out of town and an unexpected cold snap comes through!

If you have quick-connect connectors on your water spigot, know that these Covers are a very tight fit.I was also surprised to see they aren’t truly waterproof. The material does soak up water and it is a little damp inside.And it’s temperature savings is not as great as I had hoped for. We had freezing temperatures this morning so I took spot measurements with a digital laser thermometer. The metal on the water spigot protected by the cover measured only 8 degrees warmer than a nearby metal railing. I won’t be able to fully trust this to protect the pipes below 24 degrees.

Aren’t waterproof. Water goes all the way through and they get soaked. Similar reviews are correct. Not worth returning but worth the mention for other potential purchasers. Cheers.
