I have a room where hot air cannot be exhausted, so an llA/C unit is not an option to cool the room. I received this swamp cooler yesterday and set it up this morning. This unit is in a 7 foot X 7 foot room with a 7 foot ceiling. I filled the reservoir with very cold water from my water well and turned it on, as according to the instructions. After 2 hours of operation, the temperature didn't drop 1 degree. IMHO, the advertising is misleading. According to the advertising, the temperature should have dropped at least 10 degrees. I was hopeful that this product would cool the room a little, but that didn't happen. I'm returning the "cooler" and will have to find another solution.

Look. I’m hot. I’m coming in California heat. This is my saving grace. I cool down my bedroom quickly with this lovely machine. Buy this because AC gets expensive. This doesn’t jack up the electric bill. For real bro.

Bought this for my daugher's room. After two days of use, it started spewing black chunks of dust or grime out of the cooling events. She showed it to me before cleaning it off. I offered to get her a new one but she wants to see if this product works as advertised before discarding it. I am more skeptical, but will give her some time to make a final decision. I do plan to review the operating instructions in detail to see if I can find out what happened. Perhaps she did something wrong. Will update this review as needed. Update: the interior is covered with black soot. This item is getting thrown out tonight.

Surprisingly very good at cooling even at the lowest settings and you also have lots of options like the the automatic sweep option, and the natural on and off breeze mode. Uses very little energy to operate. The freezer packs work great, just place them in the tray fill it up with water and turn it on, select cool. I didn't try using ice yet but you can use other freezer packs and maybe frozen water bottles, whatever will fit. Great for small rooms or areas that occasionally need cooling.
