This product is well made and relatively easy to install. The top mounting clip would not dislodge when the quick release was pressed, so it pulled the clip and sticky tape off the wall. I just marked the bottom of the mounting clip and eyeballed the install. The sticky tape is a good idea, as it simplifies the installation alignment. The release knob would not turn to release the gate, so I used a pair of pliers to unstick it. It seems fine now. The instructions are very thorough, although not the best English. I just skimmed them, as the install is pretty straightforward.I was installing this at the top of a staircase, so I had to use sticky tape and zip ties to mount the receiving clips. It would be nice if alternative mounting clips were included. Although it's possible that the manufacturer doesn't want the liability for a staircase install. I was installing this for a kitten, so no issues for me.I plan to buy another one of these for another location.

Product itself looks good - I got it intending to use it at the top of the basement stairs, in an area with dry wall - instructions did not include drywall instructions - just wood and concrete.Also - just in case anyone else has a railing like I do, while I could have installed it in the drywall, my railing for the staircase was in the way, so I am not able to set it up at the spot I wanted to at all.I will probably use this in another location in the house, and the product looks pretty good - think hard about the space you want to install it (at least more than I did)
