I bought this even though a little pricey, hoping it would fix an expensive and badly laid asphalt road we had hired to have done for our driveway. Since the road man refused to fix it and stopped answering our phone, I ordered this to hopefully smooth out the hard "speed bumps" that had been created down the whole road with the poor materials he used. I have a mixed review on this product. First, best thing is the material is sturdy and well made! The worst thing is the hitch! It didn't fit my small John Deere tractor or my side-by-side, so check your hitch first before buying!! I managed to rig it with a section of brick to fit in the middle, then 2 long pins I bought inserted to hold it on. There is a handle that raises and lowers and I suspect that it is to raise and lower it for transport but it does not move mine up or down at all and so the thing drags the ground all the time. I don't think it is due to the hitch not fitting correctly, but could be possible.. This scraper wasn't hard to put together, but was time consuming. It seemed really heavy, but when I tried it on the road, I thought it had worked, but all it did was move the gravel around and filled in the gaps. So when we drove over it several times, it reverted back to the same bumpy road. So, I then added a cinder block for weight like it suggested and tried again. I think it may have helped, because we have driven over it for three days and it is only slightly bumpy. I will go over it a couple more times and keep my fingers crossed! I can still use this box scraper in our pastures which will be perfect for light scraping and evening of dirt, so I will be keeping it. It is perfect for smoothing gravel and dirt anyway!

Something like Guide Gear ATV UTV Attachment, Implement Lift System is more ideal for implements which I wish I would have bought instead of the Brinly Universal ATV/UTV One-Point Lift that I purchased. But the Brinly BS-42BH-A 42" Sleeve Hitch Tow Behind Box Scraper works great. It works better than I thought it would. 1 suggestion would be to make the hook up out of square tubing instead of channel iron.

I have used this to grade my dirt lane to my timber, I had some pretty deep washouts from the rains and I am not sure the last time it has been graded. It took numerous passes, but I was able to completely fill in the large washouts. Initially, I was a bit concerned this would not hold up or not work well enough to do this task, but boy was I wrong. I was contemplating getting a larger tractor to do this chore, but with this Brinley box scrapper and my 23 hp Craftsman I was able to do this just fine. I just purchased the hand lift sleeve hitch and modified it a bit to get box blade off the ground more for clearance sake. Overall, I am impressed with how solid this is and the abuse it can take.

So, I’ve had this in my cart for quite some time. And finally had the opportunity to use it on my ranch. Solely to turn and smooth out my gravel driveway. Initially I didn’t have a weight attached and all i got were grooves in the driveway as the blade wouldn’t settle even level with the gravel. In addition, the lever to adjust the blade angle continued to jump out of the hole and the blade would turn sideways; I’d have to get out and go raise the blade and recenter it. I ended up tying it down with baling wire. I then put a twenty-five pound weight on the weight spot. It worked slightly better till it didn’t! As you can see from the pictures after about ten back and forth passes, the four bolts holding the blade and weight had sheared off and prior to that the one of the tines had bent (hammered back into straightness), and finally you should be able to see how the tine bar bent out of shape. I really can’t imagine a use for this that would validate the cost. Buyer Be Ware!

Putting it together was easy, instructions were simple. It’s very heavy duty. All the welds are big except one. Another review shows how there’s broke. I can weld a little so I wanted to give this a try. Mine held up perfectly! No complaints so far. I have a big driveway on 2 acres of land so I wanted this for keeping the driveway weed free and flared out all the meat up gravel from cars and Amazon drivers. I’m impressed with how strong and heavy it is. I spent 6 hrs the first day using it and nothing broke or bent. I’m very pleased with it.
